The Court of Appeal has thrown out an application by Human Rights Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu seeking for stay of execution of his 3-year ban handed him by the General Legal Council.
Lawyer Sosu has been slapped with a three year suspension by the GLC for overestimation of legal fees in a case that involved one Francis Agyare, when he represented him in a Human Right matter in Accra.
Dissatisfied with the GLC’s decision, Sosu went to the Court of Appeal to seek redress of the matter. Even before the matter is heard, he filed a motion seeking to block the implementation of the suspension.
On Wednesday, 26 July, the court presided over by Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie dismissed the motion filed by Sosu, pending final determination of the substantive appeal case.
