Highlife legend, Ernest Acheampong popularly known as Nana Acheampong has revealed that fans created the ‘beef’ between him and his brother Daddy Lumba.
Nana Acheampong, the other half of defunct music duo, Lumba Brothers, a group that contributed to making ‘Borga highlife’ popular in Ghana in the 80s, made the shocking revelation on Kumasi-based Abusua FM last Saturday.
The ‘Champion Lover Boy’ made his assertion during the weekend in response to what actually caused a break-up in the working relationship between himself and his other half of Lumba Brothers, Charles Kojo Fosu (Daddy Lumba).
In his response, Nana Acheampong replied that, he and Lumba never had any problem, indicating that, he even featured Lumba in an early album after they decided to go solo.
“People thought our decision to go solo was because of money, a woman or something else, but I tell you nothing of that sort ever happened”.
Explaining further, Nana said, “I think people will conclude that because of how we started and the good relationship we had. So people exaggerated finally that, there was a grudge between us. I will say it was people who created those ‘beef’ it weren’t real”.
The ‘refuse to grow’ legend noted that, their break was as a result of a good decision they all took, adding that, they are still yet to record the return of the “Lumba Brothers”.
‘We have made some recordings which we intend to release but due to time factor, it’s not been completed”
Nana Acheampong has been in the music industry for 26 years with 26 albums to his credit. He hinted of plans to celebrate his 26 years in music this year with Daddy Lumba.
