Ghanaian Pencil Artist, Theophilus Boateng Kwaku Sarpong, who has come to be known popularly as Theo Pencil, will be exhibiting his works at next year’s ‘Spirit Of Peace Conference’ in New York.

Theo Pencil is not a new name to anyone who follows the painting/drawing art circles in Ghana. He draws with precision – revealing pores or faded scars of subjects he draws. He calls it hyper-realism pencil art/drawing. That is what makes his pencil works stonking among his compeers.
Having conquered his territory (Ghana/Africa), Theo Pencil is now set for the global market – with a rare opportunity, having knocked on his door.

In an exclusive interview with Presspeep.com, we asked him how he was selected for ‘Spirit Of Peace Conference’ to be hosted in New York.
“Their Director Whatsapp me and told me he was overwhelmed with my drawings online so he would want me to be the face of exhibition during the Spirit Of Peace Conference in New York.”

Theo Pencil, who can’t help bating his breath at the good news, said from his research, “Very big and great people in the world associate with them.” Asked what exactly he will be doing, he intimated that “I will be exhibiting my works and possibly, will be doing some artworks there as well. They have already used some of my works as their theme pictures on their official website.”
The Spirit of Peace initiative is predicated on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the United Nations Declaration on the Decade of People of African Descent. The Initiative allows for effective implementation of the principles enshrined in the ‘Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples’ and the ‘United Nations Declaration on the Decade of People of African Descent.
The main objective is to encourage solidarity with the cause of humanity and foster good human relations by facilitating and promoting candid discussions, clearing the path for mutual respect, cultural integrity, reconciliation, rapprochement, social congruence, diversity in cultural expressions and socio-political discourse, and globalization of cultural trade.
