Turmeric, at first glance, could look to you like an ordinary spice sitting on your kitchen shelf or cabinet. However, cultures across the world such as Indians have for years used and benefitted from this spice. Turmeric has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that fight acne and other skin conditions, essentially reviving and boosting the natural glow of your skin.
Using a turmeric face mask 3 (or more) times a week, depending on the sensitivity of your skin may be beneficial. However, you would need to be extra careful as the spice may stain your clothes, tinting them a yellowish hue.
Here are some turmeric face masks you could incorporate into your skincare routine:
- Turmeric, Milk & Lemon Mask:
- 1/4 tbsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp milk
This mask is sure to leave your face feeling fresh and hydrated.
2. Turmeric, Honey, Coconut Mask:
- 1 ½ tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp raw organic honey
- 1 tbsp coconut milk
The soothing properties of honey and coconut milk as well as the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric are sure to leave your face feeling softer and tighter.
Before application of any mask, be sure to test on a small patch of skin to check for allergies.
