Former President John Mahama is set to start a legal challenge to the Presidency of Nana Akuffo Addo today at the Supreme Court.
John Mahama is being represented in court by legal luminary Tsatsu Tsikita while the President is being represented by Lawyer Akoto Ampaw.
The bench has currently retired to their chambers to rule on pleadings raised today which was not part of the initial petitions of the applicants.
Earlier in court today, the supreme court Justices were uncomfortable with references to the person of the chairperson of the EC Mrs. Jean Mensah in an application of the petitioner’s legal team.
The Justices argued the office, EC or first Respondent should suffice so anybody from that office can step in, in the absence of Jean Mensah. Tsatsu Tsikata disagrees and argues that matters in contention can only be addressed by the chairperson of the EC and no one else.
