There have been varying reasons within the party and at the presidency as to why he had been dropped from his current position which has been offered  to a relatively unknown Marigold Assan.

Top among the reasons from the Presidency is the abysmal performance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the just ended elections in the central Region which reduced the number of Parliamentary seats to 9

The center of the Party in the Central Region was believed not to hold as it was characterized by infighting and Power Struggles within the last four years. It is believed the Minister could not exert his influence on the Party.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020 won back most of the seats lost to the NPP and is currently holding 13 out of the 23 seats in the area.

An aggressive NPP communicator who added humor to his presentation was the toast of the first lady and listeners on radio in view of his unique communication skills in explaining policies and programmes of the party.

His fall, is believed in some circles as being sacrificed for the sins of the government..

It is unclear if the president is considering fielding him in one of the state agencies as head considering the critical role he played during the 2016 elections which propelled the NPP into government.

Meanwhile the appointment of the new ministers has been considered as a mere reshuffle as most of the Ministers has succeeded in retaining  their seats with a few ones being moved to a different portfolio.
