A building at the Rev. Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist Church, Adabraka has caved in leaving two construction workers hospitalized. The incident was reported to have occurred late in the afternoon on Friday, January 22, 2021.
The disaster took place in the building on the right side of the church. According to sources, this building, which was to be an extension of the Methodist Church left two out of six persons trapped and wounded underneath the rubble. They are currently on admission at the hospital.
The Ghana National Fire Service(GNFS) who rescued the victims and the National Disaster Management Organization were on the scene.
A part of the structure happened to be a school that had closed at 1:30 pm, approximately an hour and thirty minutes before the incident occurred. Investigations to determine the cause of the accident are currently in progress.
