Popular Ghanaian Music Producer Turned Social Activist ‘Kwik Action’ Campaigns For Climate In UK

Revered Ghanaian sound engineer and producer, Joseph Appiah, popularly known as Kwik Action, after almost two decades of recording and producing hit songs with his S24 recording studio, is poised to add his contribution to the ‘save the environment’ campaign which has now become a global mantra, especially the UN.

Kwik Action, unknown to many, is a humanist and an environmental activist. He, together with his American friend, Steve Walker, have developed a 30 second advert christened ‘Change the World’ aimed at educating citizens across the world on the need to save humanity from extinction through protection of our eco-system.

This project basically talks about: afforestation (tree planting), prevention of air pollution, prevention of indiscriminate burning of forest reserves, environmental cleanliness, walk or ride bicycle, promotion of usage of electronic cars, among others.

Mr Joseph Appiah was on BBC Focus on Africa UK where he’s launched a campaign song ‘Nsu Pa’ (clean water) which features his partners; Total Hip Replacement Band in Denmark and also African Foot Print, Denmark.

Now in UK campaigning about environmental protection through churches within the borders on UK, the initiative started at the Church of Pentecost, Dagenham, UK, where he performed to over 1,000 congregations both English and local branches.

Environmental issues are harmful effects of human activity on the biophysical environment. For the past decade, the state of the environment in the UK has significantly deteriorated both in urban and rural areas.

According to the UK NEA, grazing air pollution and the forces of climate change have significantly affected the mountainous regions of the UK. Due to climate change; rising seawater temperatures and exploitation of marine resources led to a serious loss of quality in UK marine ecosystems.

Air pollution, climate change, litter, waste, and soil contamination are all a part of the human activity that create these environmental issues in the UK.
