Many have admired the organic beauty of the imperial seat used at the just ended Ghana Meets Naija which was used to crown dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, as the King of the ‘Throne of Mic.’
The brain behind it, is Ghana’s Production Designer extraordinaire, Prince Kojo-Hilton. ‘Throne of Mic’ was actually placed on the right side of the stage – waiting to be used to crown the best act on the night.
Prince shared his experience with Presspeep.com: “By God’s grace he gave me another creative mind to do this. It was very challenging coming out with the idea to suit the occasion and the concept but in the end, it came out perfectly.”
According to Prince, it’s his strong wish the ‘Throne of Mic’ is used as the official emblem of honour in Ghana’s music industry. “Ghana, let’s make this prestigious throne a symbol of our music; an enviable position of honor in the industry (the throne of mics). Bless you!” he said.
Prince Kojo-Hilton is a graduate of National Film and Television Institute NAFTI – majored in Art Direction and Production Design. He was the Scenic Director for Hollywood blockbuster series “Sense 8”
